Panini y la WWE anunciaron a mediados de esta semana un acuerdo de varios años para que la editorial italiana tenga los derechos en exclusiva para editar cromos y cartas del ‘Pressing Catch’. El acuerdo arrancará en el primer trimestre de 2022 de la mano de la filial Panini America, que será la encargada de lanzar la colección Prizm en EE.UU.
El nuevo acuerdo entre Panini y la WWE empezará con una colección que ya ha sido anunciada y que por el momento será exclusiva para Estados Unidos. Se trata de WWE Prizm 2022, que coincidirá con WrestleMania®, el mayor evento anual de la WWE que se celebrará el 2 y 3 de abril en el AT&T Stadium de la ciudad de Dallas. Se podrán comprar en las tiendas Walmart y Target, así como online.
Ni Panini España ni ninguna otra filial en Europa han informado todavía si alguna de las nuevas colecciones de la WWE llegará al otro lado del Atlántico.
Topps tenía la licencia desde 2008
Topps obtuvo la licencia para editar los productos coleccionables de la WWE en el año 2008. De esta manera, la empresa de lucha libre pondrá fin a 13 años de acuerdo con la editorial norteamericana, que lanzó cromos y cartas con el sello Slam Attax en Europa a través de su filial Topps Europe Limited.
